Devotional Thought
Steadfast in the Storm
Verse:
"Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you." — Deuteronomy 31:6
Devotional Thought:
Life often feels like an unpredictable sea. One moment the waters are calm, and the next, a sudden storm threatens to overwhelm our progress. It’s easy to feel isolated when the wind picks up, as if we’re navigating the waves entirely on our own.
However, Deuteronomy reminds us that courage isn't the absence of a storm—it’s the realization of who is in the boat with us. We don't have to summon strength from our own depleted reserves; we rely on the promise that God is a constant presence. He doesn't just watch from the shore; He goes with us. When we stop focusing on the height of the waves and start focusing on the faithfulness of His word, our fear begins to lose its grip.
Reflection Question:
What "storm" in your life right now is making you feel isolated, and how can you invite God into that space today?
Prayer:
Lord, thank You for being my steady ground when everything else feels shaky. Forgive me for the times I let fear dictate my direction. Remind me today that I am never walking alone and that Your presence is my greatest source of courage. Help me to move forward with confidence, knowing You will never leave my side. Amen.
